Description:

Role:

  • Manage mining and contractor activities within the contract provisions to ensure the mine is operated to the standards required by TFE.
  • Ensure the statutory and corporate obligations of supervision of all personnel are met.
  • Actively participate in the planning of mining activities and the communication of mine plans to site personnel so that personnel involved in mine control activities, such as geology, surveying and mine engineering are able to operate effectively and efficiently.
  • Manage weekly planning to achieve goals.
  • Actively liaise with personnel to manage the interface between mining and crusher operations, including stockpile management.
  • Monitor contractor performance and review mining contractor claims.
  • Co-ordinate and direct ancillary earthworks on haul roads, waste dumps, ROM pad and stockpiles, including earthworks associated with rehabilitation. Control and direct ancillary contractors and consultants activities.
  • Liaise with supervisors on joint operational and safety matters.
  • Performance manage the mine shift supervisors and crews.
  • Supervise minor civil works around the site.
  • Keep management informed and share information across the company by providing well thoughtout, concise and timely oral and written information.
  • Actively review systems and procedures regularly within the mining area to maximise effectiveness and efficiency within the company.
  • Manage and supervise Dewatering activities

Requirements

  • Certificate 4 in Frontline Management
  • WA restricted Quarry Managers Certificate
  • NT Mine Manager Certificate of competency
  • Commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
  • Significant experience in the operation and planning of mines.
  • Experience in a comparable supervisory role with supervisory experience.
  • High-level understanding of requirements under relevant Act & Regulations.
  • A thorough understanding of mine operations.
  • Proficient in the use of computer applications of Word and Excel.
  • Very good practical, planning and prioritising skills.
  • Innovative with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Superior organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • The nature of the position, which requires work in remote localities with limited medical facilities, dictates being medically fit to work in such locations.
